PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR ACTORS ON WAYS TO PROMOTE ONE'S CAREER
  1. Honor your commitments.
  2. Show up to all rehearsals and performances on time.
  3. Thoroughly familiarize yourself with your role.
  4. Stay within your professional boundaries.
  5. Carefully listen to the director.
  6. Unless solicited, NEVER offer advice to the director; better to leave a
production on good terms than to argue over creative differences.
  7. Never show up at a rehearsal or performance hung-over or intoxicated.
  8. Work cooperatively with your fellow cast members.
  9. Fully commit yourself to the project.
10. Be of good cheer.
11. Present a neat, professional personal appearance.
12. When auditioning, be confident, be polite, and SMILE.
13. When answering an audition call, ALWAYS bring a headshot and resume.
14. After an audition, quickly exit.
15. Unless otherwise directed, ALWAYS speak your lines clearly enough and
loudly enough to be easily understood in the last row.
16. Develop and practice singing and dancing skills.
17. Commit at least two 100+-word monologues to memory.
18. Be sincerely supportive of your fellow actors.
20. Never refuse a role without valid reason; respond to all offers quickly.
21. Never put yourself ahead of the show; no one is indispensible.
21. Put forth your best effort; don't be afraid to fail.
22. Treat EVERY role, including general extra roles, as the most important role
       of your career.
23. If you are in show biz to earn money, stop wasting your time and the
director's and go get a job.
